Communications Trainee (DE)

Volt Europa is looking for a trainee to translate the complexities of European politics into compelling social media content and build the online profiles of Damian Boeselager, Kai Tegethoff and Nela Riehl. As an Online Communications Trainee you will be creating video content, building an online community, and managing a whole range of social platforms. We work across most social media platforms, including Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook, Bluesky and TikTok.

You will work directly with the three MEPs and their communication team. You will do what the comms team does - no coffee runs or data entry. We are looking for candidates who can work seamlessly in the team, while taking on challenges and projects of their own. Candidates should be able to write video scripts and captions, shoot and edit videos, and develop their own content ideas. You should be prepared to receive and implement feedback both from the comms team as well as Damian, Kai and Nela directly. Support, guidance, and mentoring will always be available, but we also expect you to be able to work unassisted and start your own initiatives.

We want someone who lives and breathes social media, someone who can juggle numerous roles and responsibilities, and has knowledge of broader European politics.

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. You are welcome in our organisation, and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone.

We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation! We value equity of opportunity and do not expect a trainee to arrive with 10 years of working experience.

•  A curious and creative mind with the ability to break down complex topics and issues into accessible social content

•  Experience in video and photo editing with tools such as CapCut and Canva. Anything else would be a plus!
