Kruzer - a Somali-Dutch artist from Roosendaal

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

Hey, I’m Kruzer. I’m a Somali-Dutch artist from Roosendaal, and I make what I like to call stadium status music.

Did you always know you wanted to become an artist?

Yes. Music has always been a passion of mine. Becoming an artist just felt natural to me.

How did you find your own sound?

By constantly failing, reflecting on my mistakes, and learning from them. My sound came from figuring out what didn’t work.

How would you describe your music to someone hearing it for the first time?

Stadium status music. Music that feels big, emotional, and made to be heard in a stadium.

What’s been the biggest challenge in your career so far?

Making my first album. I learned a lot from the whole process, not just about music, but about myself as an artist too.

How do you deal with doubt or creative blocks?

I don’t believe in creative blocks. If you feel stuck, it just means you need to go live life and find new inspiration.

How do you protect your own sound while still evolving as an artist?

I don’t really try to protect my sound. My sound is me, so as long as I keep evolving as a person, the music will evolve with me.

What’s one song you wish you’d written?

Street lights by Kanye West.
